Ukraine’s Rada mandates additional monthly payments for frontline soldiers

The Verkhovna Rada has passed a resolution directing the government to implement a mechanism for additional monthly payments of UAH 70,000 (approximately USD 1,894) for military personnel actively engaged in combat operations on the frontline.

This is in addition to their regular salary (UAH 20,000-25,000 or approximately USD 540-675) and combat pay (UAH 100,000 or approximately USD 2,700).

This decision comes in response to the recent escalated attacks by Russian forces, highlighting the urgent need for enhanced support and motivation for Ukraine’s defenders. Simultaneously, the long-awaited mobilization law passed today, which fell short of frontline expectations.

The resolution, supported by 321 members of the Rada, mandates the government to develop a mechanism for a one-time additional payment of UAH 70,000 to soldiers performing combat tasks on the front lines, in enemy territory, and in temporarily occupied regions for every 30 days of service.
