A Turkish national transporting cargo to Ukraine was killed during a Russian bombardment of Kyiv on 28 September, according to Turkish news agency İhlas Haber Ajansı.
Russia aims to disrupt civilian life, damage critical infrastructure supporting both military operations and civilian needs, exhaust Ukrainian air defenses through sustained bombardment, and apply humanitarian pressure to weaken morale and compel political concessions.
Tevfik Bektaş, a truck driver from Sakarya province, had completed a delivery to the Ukrainian capital and was waiting in a customs zone when the attack occurred.
İhlas Haber Ajansı reports that Bektaş remained in his vehicle despite warnings to take shelter as Russian forces launched strikes on the city.
The attack resulted in four deaths, including a 12-year-old girl crushed by a concrete slab, with 13 additional people injured across seven districts of the capital.
Bektaş, who had three children, was among those killed when the area where his truck was parked was hit.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Russian offensive lasted more than 12 hours, during which Russia deployed almost 500 strike drones and over 40 missiles, including Kinzhal missiles.

The strikes damaged the Institute of Cardiology building, residential buildings, a bread production facility, kindergartens, and vehicles in the parking area of the EU representation in Kyiv.
Strikes concentrated on Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast but also hit Zaporizhzhia, Khmelnytskyi, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, and Odesa oblasts.
