The situation on the eastern front has significantly escalated in recent days, Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said.

Many Ukrainian and Western publications and commentators assessed a serious threat of Russian troop advancements and breakthroughs on the front, primarily due to a lack of personnel in the Ukrainian Defense Forces and supplies of Western weapons.

According to Syrskyi, the Russian forces have significantly intensified their offensive actions in the Lyman and Bakhmut directions. In the Pokrovsk direction, they attempt to break through the defense with dozens of tanks and infantry fighting vehicles.

Intense battles are also ongoing for Bohdanivka, with the Russian troops breaking through to the city’s northern outskirts overnight.

The analysts of the Deep State project reported that Russia occupied Bohdanivka in Donetsk Oblast. However, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense refuted this information and said intense fighting for Bohdanivka in the Bakhmut sector continues.

Syrskyi also said on 13 April that problematic areas will be reinforced with electronic warfare and air defense assets. Syrskyi also mentions replenishing stocks of drones, anti-tank missiles, and relocating additional reserves.
