Russian troops target railway station in Sumy Oblast with FPV drones, injuring three

The Russian military has attacked the railway station in the town of Druzhba in Sumy Oblast with FPV drones, according to the Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

The shelling of Ukraine from Russian territory continues each day. The number of casualties among civilians from these attacks is rising. In response, Kyiv is urging its Western partners to allow strikes deep into Russia to destroy its artillery, airfields, and equipment.

In connection with the latest attack, Ukraine has opened an investigation.

“According to the investigation, on 26 September 2024, around 1:00 PM, using methods of warfare prohibited by international law, the occupiers shelled the railway station in the town of Druzhba in the Shostka district with FPV drones. As a result of the enemy’s attack, three railway station employees were injured,” the statement says.

It is noted that under the procedural guidance of the Shostka District Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation is being conducted regarding violations of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Currently, prosecutors are working with other law enforcement agencies to document the consequences of the shelling.
