A Russian X-59 missile struck a printing house in Kharkiv, killing five and wounding seven, some critically.

Kharkiv, located just 30 kilometers from the Russian border, poses a challenge for Ukrainian air defense to intercept Russian missiles effectively.

“As many as 10 people may be trapped under the rubble,” Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, wrote on Telegram.

The attack sparked a massive fire, engulfing an area of 10,000 square meters within the facility. Rescue teams continue to search for survivors under the debris while firefighters battle to extinguish the blaze.

“Around 1 PM, the enemy shelled the city, damaging an eight-story building and a production workshop in the Kholodnohirskyi district. It was an ordinary printing house with a furniture and paint production workshop,” Serhiy Bolvinov, the chief of Kharkiv regional police, wrote on Facebook.

According to local publication Dumka, the Russian missile struck the fifth floor of the printing house’s inner courtyard. The explosion destroyed the floor slabs between levels and part of the external wall. Near the epicenter of the blast, the fence was demolished, poles and large trees were broken, and two civilian vehicles parked in the internal parking lot were almost completely destroyed.
