Over the last day, the Russian military carried out 73 attacks on Kherson Oblast, firing 310 shells from mortars, artillery, MLRS, tanks and UAVs, Kherson Oblast head Oleksandr Produkin said on 12 January.
Russian forces hit residential areas of the oblast’s settlements, killing one person and injuring three people.
Ukrainian forces liberated the western bank of the Dnipro River in Kherson Oblast in November 2022. Since then, Russian troops have been firing at the liberated territories from the eastern bank of the river in Kherson Oblast, regularly resulting in civilian deaths and injuries.
On the afternoon of 11 January, Russian troops shelled residential buildings in Kherson, according to Prudukin.
The attack resulted in an 87-year-old elderly woman being injured and detached houses in the city being damaged.
