A Russian airstrike on Kostiantynivka, a frontline city in Ukraine’s Donetsk Oblast, has left one dead and six injured, Vadym Filashkin, head of the regional military administration, reports. He stated that three KAB-250 guided bombs were used in the attack.

Kostiantynivka, located in the Ukrainian-controlled part of Donetsk Oblast, faces frequent Russian strikes. This aligns with Russia’s broader strategy to advance through key Donetsk cities. The Russian plan appears to involve a step-by-step advance through Chasiv Yar, Kostiantynivka, Druzhkivka, Sloviansk, and Kramatorsk, aiming to extend control to the Donetsk Oblast’s borders.

“Two bombs hit high-rise buildings, and one struck an educational institution,” Filashkin wrote on Telegram.

The National Police confirmed that a 77-year-old woman died in the attack. Among the wounded are three women and three men, with ages ranging up to 83. A 45-year-old man is in critical condition with shrapnel wounds to his head, neck, and back.

The strike caused widespread damage to civilian infrastructure, affecting at least 30 objects, including 17 apartment buildings, three schools, seven vehicles, and three gas pipelines.
