Power outages across Russia-occupied areas follow nighttime attack on thermal power plant

Acting head of the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) reports an overnight attempt to damage the energy system, resulting in a partial blackout and affecting “half of Mariupol, Donetsk, Yenakiyeve, and Horlivka.”

In the wake of an assault on the Starobeshevo Thermal Power Plant in Donetsk Oblast during the night of November 26, several cities in the temporarily occupied territory experienced widespread power outages.

Sources including AteoBreaking on Telegram, RIA Novosti, and the acting head of the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR), Denis Pushilin, reported that an incident occurred overnight at the Starobeshevo Thermal Power Plant in Donetsk Oblast.

As a result, “half of Mariupol, Donetsk, Yenakiyeve, and Horlivka are without electricity.”

Pushilin stated that overnight, adversaries attempted to damage the energy system of the so-called DNR, leading to a partial blackout of the region. According to him, the purported strike was “massive,” and they were unable to intercept “all objects.”

Besides, on the night of November 26, Russia claimed an attempted massive drone attack, recording a total of 21 drones. In Tula, a drone entered a residential high-rise building. During the night into Sunday, operations at two Moscow airports, “Vnukovo” and “Domodedovo,” were temporarily suspended.
