Russian forces launched multiple drone attacks on Kyiv overnight into 30 October, resulting in nine injuries, including an 11-year-old girl, the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA) reports.
This marks the nineteenth aerial attack on Kyiv since the beginning of October.
Air defense forces intercepted all drones targeting the capital.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU), falling debris in Kyiv’s Solomyansky district caused a fire in a nine-story residential building.
The fire affected the second and third floors, covering an area of 40 square meters. A kindergarten in the Solomyansky district also sustained damage.
The Ukrainian Air Force reports that Russia launched 62 Shahed-type and unidentified drones from Orel and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
By 7:00 am, 33 drones were shot down across ten oblasts of Ukraine, with an additional 25 drones lost due to location issues.
The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian oblasts with various types of weapons – strike UAVs, missiles, rockets, CABs, and MLRS. Russia’s leadership denies that the Russian army, during a full-scale war, conducts targeted attacks on the civilian infrastructure of Ukrainian cities and villages, killing civilians and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.
Russian aerial bomb strike that hit a residential area on the night of 29 October in Kharkiv resulted in four deaths and left six people injured.
