Almost 70% of Russians will support Russia’s President Vladimir Putin in the next presidential election in March 2024, according to a poll conducted by Levada Center, a Russian nongovernmental polling and sociological research organization.

68% of Russians want to see Putin re-elected, which is less than in May 2022, when 72% of Russians backed Putin’s re-election.

Most respondents describe their attitude toward Putin as positive or neutral. Supporters of his re-election explain this by saying that Putin is “a good leader,” “pursues the right policy,” and “has no alternative.”

About a quarter (23%) of respondents describe their attitude toward Putin as “sympathy,” and another 19% as “admiration.” Another 12% of respondents say they have a “neutral, indifferent” attitude toward Putin, and about a third (31%) cannot say “anything bad” about Russia’s President.

At the same time, according to the Levada Center’s poll, 20% of Russians are against Putin’s re-election.
