Massive drone assault targets Russian ammo depot and arsenal across multiple regions

A series of drone attacks has reportedly struck multiple Russian military sites, including an ammunition depot and an arsenal. The incidents, which occurred overnight, have led to fires, explosions, and evacuations in affected areas. The Russian authorities blamed Ukrainian forces for these drone attacks.

In recent weeks, Ukraine has escalated its attacks on Russian military sites, particularly using drones. These strikes aim to disrupt Russian logistics and munitions supplies crucial for the Russian military.

In the Tver Oblast, the 23rd GRAU arsenal (Main Missile and Artillery Directorate) in Oktyabrsky village was reportedly hit by drones. NASA satellites detected fires spreading across most of the facility’s territory following the attack, according to ASTRA, a Russian news outlet.

This comes after the Ukrainian forces conducted another successful drone strike against a Russian missile and ammunition storage facility in Tver Oblast on 18 September, which significantly reduced Russia’s military capability, particularly in regard to a potential invasion of Baltic states and Poland.

Simultaneously, Tikhoretsk in Krasnodar Krai experienced what local officials confirmed as a drone attack on an ammunition depot. The assault resulted in a fire and subsequent detonations. There are reportedly two military units in the vicinity.

Satellite imagery revealed that ammunition at the targeted warehouse in Krasnodar Krai was stored in open-air conditions. OSINT researchers speculate this might indicate preparation for shipment, noting the presence of trucks in the images.

The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed to have intercepted and destroyed 101 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones during the night, including 18 over Krasnodar Krai and three in Tver Oblast.

Local authorities in affected areas have reportedly initiated evacuation procedures for nearby residents. The full extent of the damage and any potential casualties remain unclear at this time.
