ISW: Russians advance in Svatove, Kreminna, Siversk, and Vuhledar

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported that Russian forces achieved territorial gains in multiple sectors of the front line in eastern Ukraine on November 2-3.

For over a year, Russia has concentrated on seizing the Ukrainian cities of Donetsk Oblast, with major attacks repeatedly occurring near Pokrovsk, Avdiivka and other key cities.

Geolocated footage confirms Russian advances on the eastern outskirts of Andriivka, west of Svatove, and in northern Terny northwest of Kreminna.

A Russian military blogger claims forces advanced “half a kilometer in depth within Petropavlivka” east of Kupiansk.

The Ukrainian General Staff reports ongoing Russian offensive operations across a broad front, including near Holubivka, Synkivka, and Petropavlivka. According to the ISW, Russian forces are also conducting assaults with wounded personnel to maintain the intensity of infantry assaults.

Near Vuhledar, elements of Russia’s 33rd Motorized Rifle Regiment advanced in eastern Antonivka, while the 36th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade seized Maksymivka, as confirmed by geolocated footage.

Additional footage shows Russian forces capturing Katerynivka and advancing toward a bridge east of Yelyzavetivka.

Southeast of Siversk, Russians launched what ISW describes as “a battalion-sized mechanized assault involving around 120 Russian servicemen, seven tanks, 13 infantry fighting vehicles (BMPs), and two MT-LB amphibious armored personnel carriers.”

Ukrainian forces report inflicting significant losses, claiming to have “destroyed six Russian tanks and nine BMPs and killed 19 Russian personnel while wounding 23.”
