Berlin is allocating an additional €50 million for the hospitalization and treatment of wounded Ukrainian soldiers, the German Embassy in Ukraine reported on social media.
Recently, The WSJ has reported, citing confidential Ukrainian estimates from earlier this year, that the Ukrainian military has lost 80,000 soldiers. Nearly 400,000 Ukrainian fighters have been wounded on the front lines.

“Germany is allocating an additional €50 million for the hospitalization and treatment of wounded Ukrainian soldiers. The Federal Office will cover future costs for inpatient treatment of war-wounded for Administrative Services without bureaucratic procedures,” the statement reads.
Earlier, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock announced $111 million in aid for Ukraine during a visit to Moldova on 17 September.
The announcement came as concerns grew about Russia’s continued aerial assaults on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
Russia has been launching waves of attacks on Ukrainian power stations and other energy facilities, leading to rolling blackouts in parts of the country. The Ukrainian energy system continues to recover from massive Russian strikes, with power deficits remaining and emergency and scheduled repairs ongoing at energy facilities.
