Pro-Ukrainian partisan movement Atesh strikes Russian logistics again. This time, the railway used by the occupiers to transport Shahed strike drones from the largest Russian plant in Yelabuga to the combat zone was put out of service.
The “Atesh” partisans operate in the occupied territories of Ukraine and Russia. It was founded in 2022 in response to Russia’s all-out war. Crimean Tatars, Ukrainians, and even Russians who were mobilized into the Russian army but now work for Ukraine are involved in the group, providing intelligence on Russian positions, depots, equipment, and personnel.
The railway is located nearly 1000 km away from Ukraine’s border, in Russia’s Chuvashia Republic.
Recruitment and foreign workers at Yelabuga
Russia assembles a large number of its drones, used to strike Ukrainian civilians and critical facilities at the Yelabuga factory.
Moscow actively recruits young women from poor countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America to produce drones. According to the UN, Russia has killed 14,000 civilians in Ukraine. This figure does not include victims, which might be over 100,000 in Mariupol only.
Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andrii Hnatov has revealed that, according to preliminary data, 20,000 North Korean workers may also be involved in the manufacture of Geran drones, as per UkrInform.
Strike on the railway — incident details
In the latest partisan operation, the Atesh agent set fire to a relay cabinet on the section of track between the settlements of Altyshevo and Alatyr in Chuvashia. This led to a disruption in the movement of trains and caused delays in the delivery of munitions and Shaheds that the occupiers use to strike civilians.
Previously, Atesh struck this logistics chain in Mordovia.
