“The View” co-host Sunny Hostin claimed on Wednesday that billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk was responsible — through cuts suggested by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) project — for the loss of some 300,000 lives, who were “mostly children.”

Hostin made the comments during the ABC midday broadcast of “The View,” where she argued that even though Musk was stepping away from a more central role within President Donald Trump’s inner circle, he and his counterparts at DOGE had already done immeasurable damage.

“But the damage that he did was just really incredible,” Hostin said. “He slashed 250,000 federal employees, more than 8500 contracts, more than 10,000 grants, and his cutbacks on medical research cost the lives of — the foreign aid — cost 300,000 lives, mostly children.”

“That’s the damage that Elon Musk did, so I don’t think anyone should be listening to him about anything,” she insisted.

The rest of Hostin’s co-hosts joined the pile-on a bit later, but they also were quick to suggest that Trump might need to watch his step as Musk exits the administration.

“Elon knows the 411 on everything,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg claimed.

Hostin agreed: “Yeah, he got all that information.”

“He knows how all this came down,” Goldberg said.

“So Trump should be afraid of him,” co-host Joy Behar added, and then appeared to make an attempt at casting doubt on the legitimacy of Trump’s victory in the 2024 presidential election. “He has the receipts on the election, too.”
