NextImg:Rumer Willis Reveals Daughter’s Name Came From ‘Typo’

Bruce Willis‘ daughter Rumer revealed that her daughter’s name, Louetta, came from a “typo” during a text conversation she was having with her child’s father, boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas.

The 35-year-old daughter and actress of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore talked about the inspiration for her infant daughter’s name and called it “divine intervention,” People magazine reported.

“We were thinking about the name Loretta, and it was a typo,” Willis said. “Her dad and I were texting, and he left the ‘R’ out of Loretta, and it was just Louetta.”

“I was like, ‘Oh, I love that!'” she added. “I feel like it was one of those kind of divine intervention universe moments, and we figured it out actually quite early in my pregnancy.”

She admitted even once they decided on her name, she was worried whether it would be the right fit.

“What was scary was, I love this name, but oh man, is it going to be her name? Is it the right name?” Willis said. “What if she comes out and doesn’t look like this?”

“I fell in love with the name so much, so early on, that I was then worried that it wouldn’t work,” she added. “But then she came out, and I mean, to me, at least right now, I was going to name her Lou, whether she was a boy or a girl.”

“I wanted to find something that had a lot of versatility,” the “Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood” actress continued. “If she doesn’t feel like a Louetta, she can go by Lou, she can go by Etta. She can go change it up throughout her life. Whatever she wants.”

Willis and Thomas welcomed their first daughter to the world in April.

In February, her family shared a joint statement that her father, the 68-year-old superstar actor, had been officially diagnosed with dementia following a report a year earlier that Willis was diagnosed with aphasia.

The statement was signed by the “Die Hard” star’s wife Emma Hemming, their two daughters Mabel and Evelyn, along with Willis’ ex-wife Moore and their adult daughters Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah.
