Actor Jamie Foxx has been hospitalized since mid-April with what his family has only referenced as a “complication” — and now, with no new information regarding his condition, a new host has been selected for his game show “Beat Shazam.”

According to a report published Wednesday by entertainment site TMZ, the new season of the game show is set to begin filming immediately and a new host — who was not named — has been selected to take Foxx’s place. Foxx’s daughter Corinne, who cohosts the show with her dad, has also bowed out for the time being in order to stay with her father.

The same report indicated that, while there was no new information regarding the Oscar-winner’s condition, sources close to the family were urging friends and fans to continue to “pray for Jamie.”

Foxx was filming the Netflix movie “Back in Action” — along with co-stars Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close — when he was suddenly rushed to the hospital in mid-April. At the time, his daughter Corinne released a statement from the family asking for privacy and referring to his mystery illness as a “medical complication.”

“From the Foxx Family: We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time. Much love, The Foxx Family,” Corinne wrote.

In the weeks since, many fans and friends have spoken out to wish the actor well — but no one has been able to give any updates regarding Foxx’s diagnosis or prognosis going forward. The remainder of “Back in Action” was reportedly shot using a body double in Foxx’s place.
