Kate Middleton finally broke her silence on Friday about her medical condition, announcing in a video that she has cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy.
In a video posted on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ social media account, Middleton said that when she went in for “major abdominal surgery” in January she believed that it was for a non-cancerous situation. But after the surgery the tests showed that she had cancer.
“The surgery was successful,” Princess Kate said. “However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.”

“My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment,” she added.

“This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family,” Middleton continued.
