Former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was spotted at a Katy Perry concert in Montreal on Wednesday, fueling rumors that the pair are romantically involved.
Videos from the concert show Trudeau smiling and singing along enthusiastically to “Firework,” “Roar,” and “Dark Horse.”

A few days earlier, the pair were seen dining together at Le Violon, one of the city’s high-end restaurants, after walking Perry’s dog in the park.
“My take was they had a really good time, they came in…they were so polite, so nice,” said Chef Danny Smiles, owner of Le Violon, in an interview with TMZ.
They ordered the chef’s tasting menu, which featured lobster, tuna, lamb gnocchi, and beef tartare.
Smiles said that when he walked up to the table, “it was a good vibe.” When asked to classify it as romantic or friendly, he equivocated: “I think it’s friendly but the restaurant’s a romantic setting. It’s hard to say.”
The 40-year-old pop singer announced she had broken up with Orlando Bloom after nine years together, earlier this month.
Trudeau, 53, and his ex-wife Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, divorced in 2023, while the former was serving his second term as Prime Minister of Canada.
Commenting on the dinner, public relations expert Natasha Koifman called the coupling a “strategic move,” claiming the two wanted to be seen based on the fact that they chose to sit by the window when there were probably more private options available. “I think it elevates both of their brands, for very different reasons, to actually be seen together.”
Both Trudeau and Perry have experienced negative publicity in the last few years. Trudeau resigned from office in 2025 amidst dissatisfaction from voters and party members over cost of living, immigration, and a string of political scandals.
Perry took heat in April for her participation in the all-female Blue Origin space flight, which was widely criticized for being “out of touch” and a “publicity stunt.” Some were predicting that this event spelled “extinction” for her career.
Sharaun Kaur, a principal at public relations firm Navigator, proposed that Trudeau might be trying to lean into his “celebrity factor” after a withdrawal from politics, noting that he has always had a “celebrity vibe to him.”
