Superstar Drake definitely got everyone’s attention when he announced he’s done making music “for a while.” He said he needs to “focus” instead on his health and make that his priority after struggling for years with the “craziest” stomach problems.
During the 36-year-old Canadian singer’s appearance on Friday on his Sirius XM show “Table For One” on Sound 42, the rapper, born Aubrey Drake Graham, said he doesn’t plan to work on his music career for “maybe a year” or even longer to deal with ongoing health issues.
“I probably won’t make music for a little bit. I’m gonna be honest,” Drake said. “I got some other things I need to do for some other people that I made promises to, but I probably won’t make music for a little bit. I’m gonna be real with you. I need to focus on my health first and foremost and I’ll talk about that soon enough.”
“Nothing crazy but just I want people to be healthy in life and I’ve been having the craziest problems for years with my stomach,” he added. “So I need to focus on my health and get right, and I’m going to do that.”
Drake says he is taking a break from music for a year or longer to focus on his health and deal with stomach problems:

“I need to get right,” the singer continued. “I have a lot of other things that, I would love to focus on. So I’m gonna lock the door in the studio for a little bit. I don’t even know what a little bit is. Maybe, maybe a year or something, or maybe a little longer.”
The “One Dance” hitmaker did not explain further what he’s been going through other than to promise he will share that information “soon enough.”
The rapper’s latest comments follow multiple postponed shows over the summer. Drake originally had scheduled to kick off his “It’s All A Blur” tour at FedExForum in Memphis on June 29. Then two days before the show it was announced he had to postpone it. The show was rescheduled for August 6th and then days before he was set to his the stage, he canceled due to production issues, Billboard noted.
