WASHINGTON—Congressman Brandon Gill will introduce legislation Wednesday barring abortionists from dumping aborted baby remains into publicly owned water systems, The Daily Wire can first report.
The Texas Republican’s legislation deals with a morbid and often under-discussed topic: the disposal of aborted fetal remains. While some states have laws requiring that aborted baby remains be cremated or buried, a number of states do not, allowing abortionists to dispose of aborted baby remains by flushing the bodies down the garbage disposal, ultimately casting their remains into public sewage.
Gill described the bill, the Respectful Treatment of Unborn Remains Act, as part of the “greater fight to protect all life from the evil of abortion” and restore “some dignity after death.”
“Every life is precious and has value, from the moment of conception until natural death,” Gill told The Daily Wire. “Not only does abortion rob an unborn baby of their life, but abortionists further rob them of a dignified burial by carelessly discarding their fetal remains into public water systems — a disgusting and abhorrent practice.”
“This careless discard of human body parts signifies the depraved disregard for the sanctity of life at abortion clinics,” he added. “Beyond the moral outrage, introducing fetal remains into public water systems also poses a serious public health concern, potentially contaminating water sources.”

During testimonies from abortionist Kermit Gosnell’s murder trials, investigators revealed that the abortionist would shove baby remains down his garbage disposal and his toilets, clogging both to the point where pipes would burst, and, in one case, a baby’s arm allegedly “popped out” on the street as maintenance workers plunged the system.
Employees at the clinic said during the trials that the abortion clinic toilet had to be removed from the floor to “get the fetuses out of the pipes,” The Daily Mail reported.
“They were shoving body parts down the garbage disposal,” said Philadelphia Police crime scene investigator John Taggart, according to The Daily Mail. “To the point where they plunged it one day and an arm popped out on Lancaster Avenue.”
Gosnell, who was netting about $1.8 million a year from his gruesome practices, has been in prison since 2011.
Gill’s bill would prohibit abortionists from disposing fetal remains into publicly owned water systems, including drains and pipes controlled by the federal, state, or local government entities, making violators subject to a fine and up to five years in prison.
Senator Jim Banks (R-IN) introduced similar legislation while he served in the House, and will introduce the Senate companion to Gill’s bill this year as well.
