A coalition of conservative organizations has written a letter to President Donald Trump urging him to combat the “the woke infestation” in the Smithsonian Institution museum network.

“We write today in support of your efforts to reform the Smithsonian Institution,” reads a letter penned by Aiden Buzzetti, the president of the Bull Moose Project.

The president has ordered a “comprehensive internal review” of the Smithsonian Institution’s museums in order to “celebrate American exceptionalism” ahead of the nation’s 250th anniversary.

Representatives from the Article III Project, the American Principles Project, and the 1776 Project PAC also signed on.

“There are a litany of examples of exhibitions which should be nowhere near an institution as vaunted as the Smithsonian, much less featured so prominently: paintings which celebrate illegal immigration, absurd attacks on Founding Father Benjamin Franklin, and alliances with anti-American groups like the 1619 Project have all stained this storied institution,” the letter reads.

The letter, which praises Trump’s executive order, draws his attention to a number of other exhibits it deems to be anti-American.

“Until you stopped it, the Women’s History Museum—still in development—planned to highlight stories of biological males who claimed to be women,” it says. “Sometimes, exhibitions and ideas have veered into the flatly ridiculous, such as when the Museum of African American History and Culture declared that ‘rational thinking’ was a white value.”

Additionally, the signatories accuse the Smithsonian of “trying to export their radical ideas into the hearts and minds of Americans far from D.C.” with “traveling exhibitions like the ongoing ‘The Bias Inside Us,’ which encourages visitors to ‘retrain your brain’ in order to detect the ‘racism, homophobia, classism, [and] ableism inside us.’”

The signatories concluded by urging Trump to continue his work at the Smithsonian.

“Our museums should reflect the truth of America’s greatness and the greatness of its people. Thank you for working to ensure that they do,” it concludes.

The Smithsonian Institution did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
