Putin is throwing his young men into a meat grinder to save face and rob Ukraine of its natural resources. Peace will be temporary at best, even if he is given what he wants.

Russia is not on great economic footing, is struggling in a war against a much smaller adversary, and is becoming a global pariah.

Putin will not hesitate to go after more after this.
