United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facilities in Oregon and Illinois saw chaotic leftist protests over the weekend, days after a deadly shooting targeting immigration agents in Dallas, Texas.

Federal officials tear-gassed, tackled and arrested suspects from screaming crowds of protesters in Portland and Broadview near Chicago, as shown in video footage captured by multiple on-the-ground reporters. The Trump administration has sounded the alarm about rising violence against immigration officials after a shooter opened fire on a Dallas facility on Wednesday, inadvertently killing at least one detainee while targeting ICE agents.

President Donald Trump announced on Saturday morning that Secretary of War Pete Hegseth was sending troops to Portland to protect immigration officials from violent attacks by Antifa, a far-left protester network the president has labeled a terrorist organization. The president also authorized troops to use “full force, if necessary.”

At one point, a mob of Portland protesters began marching toward local police, chanting “Whose streets? Our streets!” and prompting them to back away in a police car, according to footage from The Post Millennial.

Other scenes from the weekend, however, did not appear so favorable for the anti-ICE crowds.

One man outside the Broadview building was seen hopping on top of a car to get away from authorities and tumbling to the ground just before four law enforcement agents piled onto him, according to journalist Ford Fischer. In Portland, officials were seen dragging arrestees into custody by the hands and feet on multiple occasions.

Eleven people were arrested in protests outside a Chicago ICE facility over the weekend, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said in a Sunday X post without specifying the exact location of the facility. Federal agents took two guns from rioters and found “what appears to be some sort of explosive device” near the building on Saturday night, the DHS said.
