A former classmate of Thomas Matthew Crooks, the man identified by federal authorities as the shooter who attempted to assassinate former Pres. Donald Trump over the weekend, wrote about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

Trump was speaking at a campaign rally on Saturday when Crooks fired multiple rounds from an AR-15 style rifle at the Republican presidential candidate, grazing him, killing one person in the crowd and critically wounding two others.

Twenty year-old Sarah D’Angelo, who saw and sat a few seats away from Crooks on a daily basis at Bethel Park High School in Pennsylvania, described Crooks as “a quiet kid” in an interview with The Washington Post.

D’Angelo recalled that the final project Crooks had in an honors American history class was an analysis of the Kennedy assassination – and where the gunmen “hid to fire the fatal shots”:

“On Sunday, she [D’Angelo] found herself thinking about their final project in honors American history, which was about the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

“Their teacher instructed them to determine what they thought happened — including how many gunmen there were, and where they hid to fire the fatal shots.”

President Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963 in Texas, purportedly by Lee Harvey Oswald firing a rifle from a book depository as Kennedy passed by in a motorcade below.

In contrast, Crooks fired from atop a building with a direct line of sight to Trump, who was speaking at a campaign rally.

Two days after allegedly shooting Kennedy, Oswald was shot dead by a local nightclub owner, Jack Ruby. Crooks was killed immediately after shooting into the Trump rally by Secret Service counter-sniper agents.
