Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) wants to know why anyone would consider a recent post by Twitter CEO Elon Musk to be controversial.
On Friday, Musk replied to a tweet by TheRedHeadedLibertarian comparing the opinions of Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis to those of MSNBC.
“Governor DeSantis: you can’t sex change for your child in Florida,” the tweet begins.
“MSNBC:” it continues, sharing an MSNBC tweet claiming “Ron DeSantis' desperation for power is destroying an entire state.”
“Any parent or doctor who sterilizes a child before they are a consenting adult should go to prison for life,” Musk replied.
“Why is this a controversial statement?” Sen. Cruz asked, replying to Musk’s tweet, including the image of a puzzled-looking emoji.
The tweet by MSNBC was promoting an opinion piece titled, “What's the matter with Ron DeSantis’ Florida?” a commentary attacking Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for his opposition to a number of liberal efforts, such as schools teaching radical Critical Race Theory and exposing young children to liberal gender ideology and drag queens.
