UPDATE: Following Rep. Jeffries' eight-hour speech, House Republicans passed their budget bill by a narrow 218-214 margin, sending it to President Donald Trump, who will sign it into law.
“Hakeem Jeffries is officially the One Big Beautiful Bill's top salesman,” Turning Point USA Founder and CEO Charlie Kirk declared Thursday when the Democrat House minority leader warned that Pres. Trump’s budget bill will oust illegal immigrants.
During his marathon remarks on the House floor prior to a vote on what Republicans have dubbed the “One Big, Beautiful Bill,” Rep. Jeffries (D-NY) complained about “The deportation machine that will be unleashed on steroids by this one big, ugly bill.”
“We know that, in fact, is the case. That’s not hyperbole,” Rep. Jeffries said.
In a social media post containing a video clip of Jeffries’ comment, Kirk praised the Democrat’s observation:
“Hakeem Jeffries is officially the One Big Beautiful Bill's top salesman: ‘A deportation machine that will be unleashed on steroids,’ when the bill passes. We told you it was beautiful.”
Or, as Twitchy.com put it:
“During his pause-ridden rant, he unintentionally gave Republicans the best reason to pass the bill. He said the bill will unleash a ‘deportation machine on steroids’ that will sweep up illegal aliens living in the U.S. Um, YES, PLEASE!”
Many Republican supporters’ social media posts point out that, by creating and employing a deportation machine on steroids, the president’s bill would do exactly what Americans elected him to do.
