Liberal Journalist Geraldo Rivera has congratulated former U.S. Secret Service agent and New York City police officer Daniel Bongino for his appointment Sunday by President Donald Trump to the second-highest position in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Senator Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) – who was the House impeachment manager in Democrats’ first attempt to oust President Trump from office during his first term in the White House – wasn’t as gracious in his reaction to Bongino’s appointment to serve as the FBI’s deputy director.
“Congratulations to Dan Bongino on his appointment as Deputy Director of the FBI,” Rivera wrote Monday in a post on X.com, praising Bongino’s ability and resolve to end the FBI’s rogue activities:
“A tough guy, ex NYPD, ex Secret Service, ex-hit podcaster. Debating Dan is like fighting off a mugger. But no doubt he has the skills and commitment to focus the FBI on its law enforcement mission.”
Sen. Schiff’s X.com post was in sharp contrast to Rivera’s. Instead of acknowledging Bongino’s Secret Service and police experience, Schiff smeared Bongino’s current work as a conservative commentator and host of “The Dan Bongino Show.”
Schiff said that the nation’s law enforcement agencies have been “further” degraded by Bongino’s appointment:
“Selecting another right-wing Fox personality and internet troll — Dan Bongino — as Deputy FBI Director means two things:
“Trump installs another loyalist who won’t say no to any immoral or unethical act.
“And our law enforcement agencies — and the public safety — are further degraded.”
“Why is Adam Schiff so worried?” Bongino asked last Friday in an episode of “The Dan Bongino Show.” The answer, Bongino said, is because of Schiff’s involvement in the Trump-Russia collusion hoax:
“You do not get to alter or try to change the course of electoral politics by fabricating a story, hijacking the justice system, then, to give the patina of truth to a fake story.”
“It's kind of a big freaking deal – I’m not letting it go,” Bongino promised.
In his new role, Bongino answers to FBI Director Kash Patel, whose nomination was opposed by every Senate Democrat. In a post on X.com, Patel hailed Bongino’s appointment as “Tremendous news for law enforcement and the future of American justice!”
