“Let’s bring Dr. Morens back in and see if he has any more recollection of how things really occurred,” House Oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY) said Monday, after Dr. Anthony Fauci blamed his former senior advisor for the Biden Administration’s egregious policies and fraudulent claims regarding COVID-19.

Fauci, the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), whose claims closed schools during the COVID pandemic, prompted mask mandates and six-foot social distancing, and denied that the virus was created in a Chinese lab, testified to the committee that his senior advisor, Dr. David Morens, didn’t actually advise him.

After thrice denying Morens’ role, Dr. Fauci then proceeded to say that Morens repeatedly violated NIAID policy, edited a press release and letters to avoid public scrutiny, and provided advice on how to mislead NIH.

In an appearance on Fox News Channel following the hearing, Chairman Comer called Fauci’s claims offensive and condemned the COVID Czar’s efforts to blame others:

“What Dr. Fauci said today was ‘Oh, I never talked to my personal assistant. He didn’t have access to me, I don’t know, he’s on his own. It wasn’t me, it was the CDC that said you had to be six feet apart.’

“It was offensive, what Dr. Fauci said today, and I’m glad to see the American people got to see the mad scientist and all the damage he’s done to our society.”

Chairman Comer said the committee will now recall Fauci's former assistants, like Morens, to see what they have to say, now that their ex-boss has thrown them under the bus:

“And I want to bring some of those people back in. We’ve already heard testimony from Dr. Morens. And, now we heard testimony today from Dr. Fauci, saying ‘Oh, I didn’t have anything to do with it. It wasn’t me, it was all him.’

“Well, let’s bring Dr. Morens back in and see if he has any more recollection of how things really occurred.”

“If Dr. Fauci’s going to throw everyone else under the bus, then that may change their tune, as to how they do their answers,” Chairman Comer said.
