NextImg:Chris Rock on Abortion: 'Let's Not Get Twisted, It Is Killing a Baby'

In his new comedy special on Netflix, "Chris Rock: Selective Outrage," the actor and comedian says he is "absolutely pro-choice" when it comes to abortion, but he also understands that abortion "is killing a baby."

Rock also echoes Pope Francis by saying that abortion is like hiring a "hitman."

“There’s a part of me that’s pro-life,” Rock says in the show.

He then says, “I believe women should have the right to kill babies. That’s right, I’m on your side. I believe you should have the right to kill as many babies as you want. Kill them all, I don’t give a f***."

"But let’s not get it twisted, it is killing a baby," Rock explains.

“Whenever I pay for an abortion, I request a dead baby,” he says. “Sometimes I call up a doctor like a hitman: ‘Is it done?’”

He then says, “I am absolutely pro-choice” because “I want my daughters to live in a world where they have complete control of their bodies.”

He also jokes, “I think you should be able to kill a baby until you get that first report card.”

As reported by the Catholic News Agency, on Oct. 10, 2018, Pope Francis said, “Is it right to take a human life to solve a problem? ... It’s like hiring a hitman. Violence and the rejection of life are born from fear.”

In a July 2022 interview, the Pope said, “I ask: ‘Is it licit, is it right, to eliminate a human life to resolve a problem?’ It’s a human life — that’s science. The moral question is whether it is right to take a human life to solve a problem. Indeed, is it right to hire a hitman to solve a problem?”

Since 1973, more than 63 million children have been killed by abortion in the United States.
