(CNSNews.com) - Since President Joe Biden doesn't give any news conferences or many sit-down interviews, reporters now scream questions at him when he boards or departs Marine One.
"Sir, do you believe — sir, do you believe that Christians were targeted in the Nashville school shooting?" one reporter shouted at Biden on Tuesday afternoon: "Do you believe that Christians were targeted?
"I — I have no idea," Biden said.
"(Republican Sen.) Josh Hawley believes they were. What do you say to that?" the reporter followed up.
"Well, I probably don't, then," Biden said.
"Probably don’t then," the reporter repeated.
"No, I — I’m joking. No, I have no idea," Biden said.
Attorney General Merrick Garland on Tuesday told the Senate Judiciary Committee that it's too early to say what the killer's motive was:
"Do you plan on opening a hate crime investigation for the targeting of Christians?" Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) asked Garland:
"The FBI and ATF are both on the scene working with the local police," Garland said:
"As of now, a motive hasn't been identified, and the police chief said at the last -- at his last press conference that they don't yet have reached a conclusion with respect to motive. We are certainly working full time with them to try and determine what the motive is, and, of course, motive is what determines whether it's a hate crime or not."
Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-Texas), who lives in Nashville, told Garland at the same hearing that the killer, a woman who used "he/him" pronouns, "may have been motivated by deeply disturbing beliefs."
"And you responded, of course, to Senator Kennedy just a few minutes ago that the motive is not yet known," Hagerty said.
"But if the evidence suggests that the killer's motives were political or ideological, I just want to confirm with you that part of your investigation will be to determine whether this constitutes a hate crime or domestic terrorism."
"Yes," Garland said: "A motive that is based on the religion or the political ideology of the victims is a hate crime."
