(CNSNews.com) - President Joe Biden called Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D.-N.Y.) the “Senate Minority Leader” during his State of the Union Address on Tuesday night.
“Congratulations to the longest-serving Leader in the history of the United States Senate, Mitch McConnell. Where are you, Mitch?” Biden said according to the White House transcript of the president’s remarks.
The same White House transcript then draws a line through the word “Minority” when Biden calls Schumer the “Senate Minority Leader.”
“And congratulations to Chuck Schumer, another—you know, another term as Senate Minority [Majority] Leader,” says Biden, as recorded in the White House transcript.
Biden then corrected himself.
“You know, I think you—only this time you have a slightly bigger majority, Mr. Leader. And you’re the Majority Leader. About that much bigger? Yeah,” said Biden.
