An allegedly intoxicated driver speeding the wrong way down Interstate 93 in New Hampshire was caught after police deflated the vehicle’s tires early Sunday morning, State Police reported.
Police received several calls reporting a driver heading northbound in the I-93 southbound lane at around 2 a.m. Sunday, State Police said in a release.
A trooper found the vehicle around mile marker 35 in Bow, the release said, and deflated all four tires using a “tire deflation device” as it drove by. The car kept driving.
The driver, identified as Kayiba Christelle, 22, made it all the way to mile marker 36.2 before being stopped by officers from the Concord Police Department, the department reported.
Christelle was arrested on charges of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, disobeying a police officer, reckless operation and driving while intoxicated. The Manchester resident was released on bail Sunday morning.
Christelle is scheduled to be arraigned in Merrimack Superior Court on May 18.
