


A woman died after being trapped inside a massive Georgetown house fire Saturday night, Georgetown Fire Chief Matt McKay reported Sunday morning.
Georgetown firefighters responded to a report of a large house fire at 238 East Main St. just before 11 p.m. Saturday night, the department said in a report Sunday.
At the home, firefighters were notified a woman was still inside and entered the house, the release said. The woman was found on the second floor, suffering from serious injuries.
Firefighters took her out of the house, Georgetown Fire said, and she was taken in an ambulance to a local hospital. There the woman was later pronounced dead.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released Sunday morning.
Georgetown Fire, along with the State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit of the State Fire Marshal’s Office, are currently investigating the cause of the fire. The department stated more information will be released as it becomes available.
