A woman was arrested at the scene of a death at a Charlestown marina houseboat late Sunday night, Boston Police reported.

At 10:43 p.m. Sunday night, Boston Police officers responded to Shipway Place in Charlestown to investigate an incident on a houseboat in the marina, BPD said.

Officers located a “non-viable individual” at the scene, Boston Police stated. A woman present, Nora Nelson, 24, of Boston, was found and arrested on unrelated warrants.

Nelson appeared at Boston Municipal Court’s Central Division Monday afternoon on charges not related to the death investigation. She expected to be arraigned on Tuesday, according to Suffolk County DA spokesperson James Borghesani.

Unrelated to the death investigation, the defendant is facing charges including assaulting a man over the age of 60 with a television remote, threatening to commit a crime, destruction of property, and assault and battery on a police officer, according to court documents reported by the media. She reportedly failed to appear for a mandatory court hearing related to the charges and was wanted on multiple warrants.

Homicide detectives responded to the death at the Charlestown houseboat and are leading the death investigation, according to Boston Police.

Entrances to the parking lot and a pier at the gusty shipyard remained blocked off by police tape through Monday evening, and several police vehicles remained at the scene.

The deceased individual’s identity was not released Monday, as the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducts an autopsy to determined the cause and manner of the death and identity the individual, BPD said.
