A Winthrop police officer has been placed on leave following an investigation by state police assigned to the Suffolk DA’s office.
Winthrop police Lt. James Feeley was placed on leave pending the investigation, according to a statement from Winthrop police chief Terence M. Delehanty.
“James Feeley has been placed on administrative leave from the Winthrop Police Department pending the outcome of a criminal investigation headed by State Police Detectives assigned to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office,” Delehany said in a statement.
There have been no details released so far about the nature of the investigation into Feeley.
