A Massachusetts family doctor already charged with child pornography offenses faces new and similar charges along with his 67-year-old father.

The case centers around 33-year-old Dr. Bradford Ferrick, who according to the state Attorney General’s office began a medical residency at Baystate Franklin Family Medicine in 2022. During this residency, he rotated his practice at facilities in Greenfield, Deerfield and Springfield.

Bradford Ferrick was arraigned on Oct. 17 in Middlesex County on two counts each of reckless endangerment of a child, posing a child in the nude, and conspiracy as well as a count each of indecent assault and battery on a person under 14; trafficking a person for sexual servitude; photographing an unsuspecting person in the nude; and tampering with a record, document, or other object for use in an official proceeding.

He’s also scheduled to be arraigned on one count of photographing an unsuspecting person in the nude in Franklin County.

A law enforcement affidavit filed in a federal case against him alleges not only video child pornography found on electronic devices belonging to the doctor but also SD cards containing what appear to be surreptitious video recordings of his examinations of minor male patients. He has pleaded not guilty on a single count of possession of child pornography in this federal case.

On Sept. 30, Bradford Ferrick’s father, David Ferrick, 67, was arraigned on 13 nearly identical charges in Middlesex County.

Bradford Ferrick and his father, as well as his mother, live together in a home in Winchester, according to a law enforcement affidavit filed in his federal case, which began in March of last year.

All of the cases were jointly investigated by the state Attorney General’s office, Massachusetts State Police Cyber Crime Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Winchester Police Department, and the FBI Boston Violent Crimes Against Children Task Force.

The case began in January 2023 when Winchester Police Det. Lauren Valdario received three CyberTips reporting suspected child pornography in a Google Drive account associated with the name “Tom L,” which is connected to a Rochester, New York, address, according to an affidavit filed by FBI Special Agent Bryce Montoya. But the account appeared to be shared with others who enjoy child pornography, as an investigation connected an IP address associated with David Ferrick with logins to the Google account and the suspect Google Drive folder.

Local and state police executed a search warrant at that Winchester home on Feb. 13, 2023, where, according to the affidavit, they seized 61 devices — including external hard drives, computers, cell phones, hidden camera systems, and SD cards — with a total storage capacity of more than 100 terabytes.

Based on the initial review, Bradford Ferrick was arraigned in Woburn District Court on Feb. 14, 2023, and then released the next day on $50,000 cash bail into 24-hour home confinement monitored by GPS.

A subsequent search recovered even more devices. The federal court affidavit describes a few video files allegedly found on one of the hard drives that allegedly depicts the forced rape of boys believed to be between 6 to 11 years old by adult men — with file names including an initialism that the FBI affidavit says stands for “pre-teen hardcore.”

This is a developing story.
