Nearly seven months after Taylor Swift hit Gillette Stadium for her Eras Tour, the singer may be on her way back.
With Swift’s boyfriend NFL tight end Travis Kelce set to play in the Patriots-Chiefs game on Sunday, many have speculated whether the pop star may be in attendance.
Swift is currently on a break in her record-breaking Eras tour. The singer most recently performed in Brazil in late November and is set to resume next in February in Tokyo.
Though Swift hasn’t made her Sunday plans known, an appearance wouldn’t be too surprising. The Grammy winner was most recently reportedly at the Chiefs-Bills game sitting with Kelce’s mom in Missouri on Sunday.
Swift even has a house close by on the Rhode Island beachfront. The 33-year-old singer bought the Colonial-style mansion, called High Watch, on five acres in Watch Hill for nearly $18 million in 2013. The site has since become notable for her yearly Fourth of July parties attended by many celebrities.
Swift wrote a song, “The Last Great American Dynasty” on the album Folklore, seemingly about the mansion and its colorful history involving an oil heiress.
Swift’s last visit to Gillette Stadium had a massive turnout. The Eras tour took over the stadium for three nights, with a notable show in the pouring rain during the Saturday performance.
The mega star has given the Chiefs and NFL a major bump since she began dating Kelce and attended a game in September.
The so-called “Swift Effect” has been shown to drive up NFL viewership, ticket sales and merch sales. The Chiefs-Jets game she attended on Oct. 1 became the most watched game since the last Superbowl, according to the news site Storyful. Sales of Kelce’s jersey also reportedly spiked nearly 400% after Swift’s first appearance at a Chiefs game, according to sports apparel retailer Fanatics.
Swift added a number of accolades to her lengthy repertoire in recent weeks. Just last week, she was named Time’s Person of the Year, the first woman ever to receive the title twice and the first person to receive the award for their success as an entertainer. She was last named Person of the Year, defined by Time as the person who’s done the most to influence events of the year for better or worse, in 2017.
The Eras Tour also became the first tour to ever gross more than a billion dollars, according to Pollstar calculations released last week, and is projected to top $2 billion next year.
Spotify and Apple Music’s data released at the end of November also confirmed the pop star as the top global artist for streaming in 2023.
