


GIRLS BASKETBALL
In the Independent School League, Shauna O’Brien paced the team with 20 points to go with four assists and a trio of steals, as Pingree defeated Dana Hall, 52-37.
BOYS HOCKEY
Ayden Badrikian scored twice, while Tyler Killilea and Luke Brezner lit the lamp as Austin Prep defeated Academie Saint-Louis 4-2 for its first win.
GIRLS TENNIS
Austin Prep has named Chrissy Cerretani as its new girls tennis coach. A former Boston Herald All-Scholastic at Reading High, Cerretani won the MIAA Individual Singles Tournament in 1993. She went on to play her collegiate tennis at Clemson and Boston University, earning league honors at both schools.
WRESTLING
Lowell coaching legend George Bossi will be honored prior to the start of the Lowell-Lawrence dual meet next Wednesday, December 18 at Lowell High School. Alumni are encouraged to arrive at 4:30 p.m.to mingle with Bossi. There will be an alumni group picture at 5:30 before the dual meet begins at 6.
The wrestling coach at Lowell since 1964, Bossi has 731 career wins and garnered 16 state and five New England team titles. Bossi has guided 81 individual state champions and 29 New England titlists.
FOOTBALL
The Gridiron Club of Greater Boston honored former Boston Herald All-Scholastic quarterback Michael Berluti with the Nils V. Swede Nelson Award winner for Division 2-3. The Tufts senior threw for 2,052 yards and nine touchdowns while rushing for five more scores. Berluti played his high school football at Xaverian.
