BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

Brookline’s Altamo Aschkenasy broke a 15-year-old record as he ran a winning time of 14:27 at Larz Anderson Park, surpassing the previous standard held by 2007 state champ Robert Gibson of Brookline. Brookline went on to defeat Milton (16-47) and Natick (21-38).

CLASS NOTES

The Cambridge Athletic Hall of Fame will hold its fifth induction and dinner ceremony on May 18, 2025 at the American Legion Post 440, 295 California St, Newton. Dinner is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.

BASKETBALL

The Massachusetts Basketball Coaches Association (MBCA) announced the newest inductees to its Hall of Fame along with annual award winners. The HOF class are Richard Gifford, Bon Crook and John Willis. They will be feted on November 24 at the Hogan Center on the campus of the College of the Holy Cross. Cocktail hour starts at 4 p.m., with the dinner and ceremony to follow at 5.
