BOYS LACROSSE

Brendan Cooper scored seven goals, while Sean Pechulis finished with four goals and Payton Volz had a hat trick for Southeastern in a 17-2 Mayflower Athletic Conference win over Cape Cod Tech.

Blake Masso (four goals), Mason Kennedy (three goals), Cooper Masso (two goals) and Joey Ahmed (two goals) led Bishop Feehan to a Catholic Central league win over Bishop Stang, 18-3.

In Northeastern Conference action, Jason Rothwell scored four goals and dished three assists as Swampscott rolled past Saugus, 14-3.

Tyller Goncalves had nine saves while Tony Giacchino, Owen McNally, Colten Russo, and John Miga each netted a goal to lead Masconomet over Beverly, 4-3, in a Northeastern Conference contest.

BASEBALL

Senior captain, Brian Olson, had three home runs and eight RBI for a Dover Sherborn win over Medway, 13-2, in Tri-Valley league action. … Teddy Peters struck out six over five innings and gave up no earned runs, and Jayden Hayes (three hits, double, RBI), Brogan Roche (two hits, double, three RBI), Sam Schoenberg (hit, two RBI, two stolen bases), Arav Prajapati (hit, two RBI) and Jake Schoenberg (hit) fueled the Holliston offense in a 9-3 win over Medfield. … Sean Brown struck out four in four innings, scored two runs, and stole three bases as Bellingham (2-2) earned a 10-2 win over Millis.

Evan Yakavonis struck out seven batters while surrendering three hits in seven innings, while Johnnie Walker (2-for-3, two runs) and Cam Beltramini (2-for-4, two-run double) paced the offense for Whitman-Hanson (3-1) in a 5-1 Patriot League victory over Plymouth South.

Luke Joyce struck out three and allowed three earned runs over six innings, while Max King went 2-for-2 with two RBI as Braintree (2-1) beat Weymouth 6-3 in Bay State Conference action. … Luke Miele hit three home runs and had seven RBI, while Lincoln Loftus gave up one hit over five scoreless innings for Wellesley in a 13-3 win over Newton North.

In a Cape Ann league matchup, Hayden Ruth threw a no hitter while Carter Lucido had three hits and three RBI for a 12-1 (5 inning) Georgetown win over Rockport.

With a six-run sixth inning, Lowell (2-0) surged past Tewksbury 10-5 in Merrimack Valley Conference play. … Chris Jaillet fanned eight and Alex Berman (three hits) doubled twice to power Andover over Billerica, 4-1.

Cole Mullen pitched six no-hit innings, striking out nine and walking three as North Andover edged Westford Academy, 2-0, in a nonleague contest.

Brody Beale hit a walk-off single to cap off a four-RBI performance and boost BC High to a 9-8 Catholic Conference win over Catholic Memorial.

Ben Hickey threw 4.2 innings of relief with nine strikeouts, giving up just one hit and earning his first win of the season for Mystic Valley in an 8-6 Commonwealth Athletic Conference win over Minuteman.

John Sellon threw 6.1 shutout innings while scoring two runs also, and Henry Rogers worked around a bases loaded jam in the seventh as Abington downed Mashpee 3-0 in South Shore League action.

Connor Crane allowed no earned runs over 4.2 innings, and Gavin Wainwright pitched 2.1 innings (also without an earned run) while going 2-for-3 with a double and a triple at the plate as St. Sebastian’s defeated St. Mark’s 5-1 in the Independent School League.

Freshman Ryan Bowdridge struck out the side with bases loaded and no outs in the bottom of the seventh to seal an 8-6 win for Malden (3-1) over defending GBL champion Lynn Classical

GIRLS LACROSSE

Hannah Nota scored a hat trick and dished an assist, while Lili Berquist and Sofia Grasso struck for two goals each as South Shore Voke (4-0) bested Tri-County 8-5 in the Mayflower Athletic Conference.

Madigan Lewis tallied four goals in a well-rounded effort, pacing Fairhaven past South Coast Conference foe Bourne, 18-8.

In a Middlesex league contest, Mairin Condon had 20 saves while Charlize Collins netted six goals and Jillian Gillis scored four goals for a 16-7 Burlington win over Arlington.

In a South Coast Large League matchup, Cece Levrault notched nine goals while Abby Bradley (three goals, seven assists), Jayleigh Howarth (three goals, four assists), Addie Taylor (one goal, two assists) and Niamh Gallagher (one goal) boosted a 17-10 Apponequet win over Dighton-Rehoboth.

Olivia Powers’ five goals and Flynn Kayajan’s 15 saves were enough to lift Cape Cod Academy over Barnstable, 11-5, in Cape and Islands League play.

SOFTBALL

Katie Anderson hit two inside-the-park home runs and Olivia Klaus tripled, each driving in four runs with three hits, and Priya Bedard hit safely three times also as Medway (2-1) rolled to a 15-3 Tri-Valley League win over Dover-Sherborn in five innings. … Riley Caulfield fired a no-hitter with 13 strikeouts and recorded her 100th career hit at the plate (three in the game), while Lindsey Grattan had three hits and Isabella Briones finished with two hits as Millis (2-1) topped Bellingham, 7-0. … Kaelyn Larkin hit for the cycle, going 5-for-6 with seven RBI and four runs scored as Medfield outslugged Holliston, 18-12.

Aislin Davis hit a three run homerun while also sharing pitching duties with Whitney Gigante, throwing five innings combined, with seven strikeouts and allowing one hit, as Tewksbury bested Lowell 17-1 in the Merrimack Valley Conference.

Wakefield’s offense was powered by Kathryn Sliski (four RBI), Jackie Sullivan (one home run, three RBI), and Molly Burns (one home run, two RBI) while Kayla Shaw had 14 strikeouts for a 19-5 win over Melrose in a Middlesex League matchup.

Charleigh Hicks homered and hit two singles as Dennis-Yarmouth defeated Barnstable 16-4 in the Cape and Islands League.

Jasmine Feliciano cranked two home runs and drove in three, while Meredith Johnston (2-for-3, four RBI), Reese Kwiatek (2-for-5, four RBI) and Elsa Reulet (2-for-2, three RBI, six strikeouts on the mound) had big nights as well for Beverly (3-0) in a 21-1 Northeastern Conference rout of Winthrop in five innings. … Luka Bornhorst hit a two-run triple and made two big plays defensively as Marblehead (3-0) defeated Gloucester, 4-2.

In a Hockomock League contest, Taylor Marino pitched a complete game shutout, allowing nine hits, three walks and a strikeout as Oliver Ames bested Mansfield 4-0.

Kaelyn Chase doubled, tripled and scored three runs in a 4-for-4 performance, while McKenzie Foley had two hits and two RBI and Noey Giardina and Abby Hanna scattered two hits each also as Hanover (2-1) cruised to an 11-4 win over Plymouth North.

Zoe Teixeira (2-for-4, one run, three RBI), Olivia Araujo (2-for-4, RBI), and Janiah Cooper (pinch hit single, two RBI) propelled the offense, and Ana Tsonis struck out eight over a complete game, six-hit shutout as Greater New Bedford (2-0) took down Southeastern 6-0 in a nonleague game.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Kieran Fagan sounded off for 15 kills and Timmy Kearney had 42 assists, leading Lincoln-Sudbury over Greater New Bedford, 3-1, in nonleague play.

Brady Kundle posted 12 kills for Barnstable in a 3-0 Southern Alliance sweep of Durfee.

FOOTBALL

The Massachusetts High School Football Coaches Association will hold its 36th annual awards

banquet on Sunday, May 5 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Milford. Social hour begins at 4 PM and dinner to follow at 5.

The following players and coaches will be honored into the Hall of Fame: Gary Doherty (Framingham, Bishop Feehan, Taunton), Reggie Lanciani (Dom Savio, Dennis-Yarmouth), Chris Lindstrom (Shepherd Hill, Tantasqua), Sean Mahoney (Marlboro, Shrewsbury), Phil Marchegiani (Marian, Ayer), Sean Mulcahy (Doherty) and Paul Sullivan (North Attleboro).

The Courageous Player Award winners are Eddie Hall (Lowell Catholic), Jacob Paskell (Leominster), Nick Tutkus (Braintree) and Kyle Wilder (Chelmsford), while assistant coaches being recognized are Chuck Campoasso (North Reading), Paul Capstick (St. John’s Shrewsbury), Eli Gioumbakis (Westford Academy), Steve Jordan (Noble and Greenough), Donald Joseph (Fairhaven), Lou Ottaviani (Randolph) and Paul Saba (Whitman-Hanson).

Foxboro coach Jack Martinelli will be recognized for his 300 wins, Jim Kelliher is being honored with the Silvio Cella Lifetime Achievement Award, while Tim Murphy (Harvard) and the late Buddy Teevens (Dartmouth) are the recipients of the Distinguished Service Award and Laurie Los Lee of the Standard Times/South Coast Today will receive the Media Award.

TENNIS

After a five-year absence, a variation of the state individual tennis championship will return. The USTA New England Massachusetts High School Individual Championships is an event that is designed to bring together Massachusetts state players with an opportunity to crown a Massachusetts state champion. The dates for the boys and girls singles tournament are scheduled for May 24-27 with the registration deadline being May 10.
