CLASS NOTES

After 31 years on the bench, Chelmsford announced that Charlie Micol will not be back to coach the boys basketball team in the winter. The move had been rumored for some time, but school officials confirmed it via email.

“Looking toward the future growth and development of the Chelmsford High School Boys’ Basketball program, we will be hiring a new coach,” Chelmsford athletic director Dan Hart said in a press release. “We express our deep respect and appreciation for Charlie Micol’s years of service to the high school team, where he focused on athletics and developing young adults into leaders, and unlocking their potential on and off the court. We thank Charlie for over 30 years serving Chelmsford High School and wish him all the best.”

The inaugural A Shot For Life Bowl will be held at St. Sebastian’s in Needham

from 1-7 PM on April 30. The ASFL Bowl is the football sibling to the ASFL Challenge (Basketball), ASFL Baseball/Softball Home Run Derby and Pitchers Challenge, the ASFL Courage Cup (Soccer) and the ASFL Clash Against Cancer (Lacrosse). These initiatives are a hybrid between a fundraiser and a competitive athletic event.
