In Northeastern Conference play, Ryan Gagnon’s RBI-double gave Winthrop (4-2) the lead and Matt DeCarney struck out the side in the eighth inning to outlast Saugus for a 3-2 win in extras.

By striking out 17 batters in a complete-game effort, sophomore Matthew Griffin helped O’Bryant edge Charlestown, 6-4, in a Boston City League tilt.

Dom Boudreau dazzled from the mound by fanning 13 in a one-hit complete game, while Dom Bellia (3-for-4, two runs) was one of three batters to hit a triple and Ollie Svendsen drove in three for Revere (4-3) in an 8-2 Greater Boston League win over Everett. … Ethan Chavalier knocked in the deciding run to complete the comeback for Lynn Classical (5-1) in a 5-4 walkoff win over Somerville.

Another huge day at the plate from Matt Morash (two hits, home run, three RBI) added to a combined shutout from Donny Metznik (seven strikeouts) and Kevin Fitzgerald (five strikeouts), pacing Westford Academy past Acton-Boxboro, 6-0, in Dual County League action.

Freshman Daniel Crossman struck out six over five innings of work, while driving in three runs at the plate as well for Burlington in an 8-3 Middlesex win over Melrose.
