The Patriots are not without injuries through the first three-plus weeks of training camp.
The following players were not spotted by reporters on hand in Green Bay before Saturday’s preseason game against the Packers:
RB Pierre Strong, RB/WR Ty Montgomery, WR Tyquan Thornton, TE Mike Gesicki, OL Kody Russey, LG Cole Strange, T Conor McDermott, DE Ronnie Perkins, CB Jonathan Jones
PUP list: RG Mike Onwenu, DE Trey Flowers, S/ST Cody Davis
NFI: T Calvin Anderson
There are no major surprises included in that list. Thornton appeared to suffer an injury in Thursday’s joint practice with the Packers. One notable omission is rookie defensive end Keion White, who also didn’t finish Thursday’s joint session. Running back Ezekiel Elliott — officially signed Wednesday — is also in uniform.
Without two starters in Onwenu and Strange, the Patriots’ starting offensive line in warmups was left tackle Trent Brown, left guard Atonio Mafi, center David Andrews, right guard Riley Reiff and right tackle Sidy Sow. That’s in line with what we saw since last Thursday’s preseason opener against the Houston Texans.
