Two people are dead after they apparently crashed a dirt bike on a public street in Wareham late Saturday night.

According to the State Police, officers from the Wareham Police Department were sent to Marion Road just before 11 p.m. to a report a dirt bike had struck a passenger car.

“Upon arrival, police and emergency personnel located two male victims unresponsive in the roadway with apparent serious injuries. Both were transported to Tobey Hospital where they were pronounced dead of their injuries,” Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz’s office said in a statement.

The District Attorney’s Office identified the victims as 17-year-old Robert Stalker, of Woburn, and 20-year-old Brady Petrucci, of Raynham.

According to Cruz’s office an initial investigation shows the pair were killed after the motorbike they were both riding, which was being operated at night without any sort of lighting, struck an SUV attempting to turn off of Marion Road.

“The victims were riding on a Kawasaki dirt bike and were not wearing helmets. There were no front or rear lights on the dirt bike. Preliminarily, it appears the pair on the dirt bike crashed into an operator in a 2017 Buick Envision who was taking a left turn onto Gibbs Road,” the District Attorney’s Office said.

The driver of the Buick stopped immediately and stayed at the scene of the crash, according to the District Attorney’s Office, who said the investigation is ongoing.
