


TUESDAY’S HIGHLIGHTS
BASEBALL
In the Boston City League, freshman Will Thompson, sophomores Matt Griffin and Caden Brown, as well as senior Tavis Burns all had three hits while sophomore Mula Norwich threw four innings of no-hit baseball with eight strikeouts to go along with six RBI as O’Bryant (9-7) outslugged Brighton 21-5.
Tommy Falasca struck out six over five innings on the mound and cranked a home run offensively, and Tad Giardina hit three doubles and drove in two runs as St. Mary’s (Lynn) (9-6) topped Cardinal Spellman 7-4 in Catholic Central League play.
Jack Morley (four hits, two RBI), Patrick Finnerty (four hits, two RBI) and Lucas Riley (double, triple, five RBI) paced things offensively, while Andrew Zagami pitched a complete game with four strikeouts for Oliver Ames in a 16-6 Hockomock League win over Canton in six innings.
Tobei Nakajima fired a complete-game shutout, and Ronan O’Connell’s sacrifice fly plated Easton Halsey in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Winchester a 1-0 walkoff win over Middlesex League foe Lexington.
In a nonleague matchup, Luke Frauton allowed a pair of hits with nine strikeouts and finished 3-for-5 at the plate with a home run and three RBI to lead Medway past Sutton, 11-2.
Freshman Liam Powers finished 4-for-5 at the dish, driving in a run as Mystic Valley cruised to a 10-5 victory over Minuteman in the Commonwealth Athletic Conference.
BOYS LACROSSE
Brady Vitelli notched his 100th career point with four goals on the day, while Evan Paturzo had a hat trick as Bishop Feehan coasted to an 18-1 Catholic Central League victory over Matignon.
Connor McCarthy (goal, three assists), Gavin McCarthy (three goals, assist), Collin Murphy (two goals, two assists) and James Whitman (two goals, assist) led a balanced offensive performance for Whitman-Hanson (6-8) in a 10-4 Patriot League win over Plymouth North. … Will Robinson (four goals, assist) erupted offensively, and sniped the game-clinching shot in overtime for Scituate during an impressive 9-8 victory over rival Marshfield.
In nonleague action, Conor Walsh buried six goals and provided four assists, and Cam Richard had two goals as Whittier pulled away for a 17-6 win over Malden. … Matt Morrow finished with a hat trick, while Jimmy Ayers and Will Sawyer buried a pair of goals apiece as St. John’s Prep (14-2) wrapped up its out-of-state slate of games with a thrilling 12-11 win over Bishop Guertin (New Hampshire).
GIRLS LACROSSE
Karina Bosco struck for seven goals, and Lily Nees scored six goals and dished out two assists as Dighton-Rehoboth (8-5) rolled to a 22-5 nonleague win over Taunton. … Mykaela Correia (four goals, two assists), Emma Finch (two goals, assist), and Emily Sandelli (two goals) shouldered the bulk of the offensive load for Greater Lowell (8-6) in an 11-8 win against Monty Tech. … Halle Greenleaf accrued her 100th career point with five goals and an assist for Ipswich in an 18-9 victory over Danvers. … Ella Zindle turned in one of her best performances of the season in net (12 saves), and Ella Costa (four goals, two assists) led things offensively for Gloucester during a 9-3 win over Stoneham.
Megan Doyle collected eight points and six draw controls, while Kira Keenan tallied a career-high five points as Weymouth bested Braintree 17-4 in Bay State Conference action.
Annika Pyy sniped ten goals, and Addie Pyy and Peyton Whiting netted two goals each to propel Plymouth North in a 14-9 Patriot League win over Whitman-Hanson.
In the Merrimack Valley Conference, Kierstyn Zinter led with five goals while Abby Yfantopulos, Nicolette Licare and Kerri Finneran each netted a hat trick as Central Catholic (10-1) won 17-6 over Billerica.
Quinn Anderson netted a hat trick, and Avery Cobban and Emma MacPherson had two goals and one assist each as Sandwich (14-2) downed Cape Cod Academy 10-3 in the Cape and Islands League. … Shelby Locasio (three goals, two assists) provided a spark offensively, while Cecilia Bisbois (four goals, assist) sniped the game-winning tally at the horn to provide Barnstable a wild 11-10 victory over Nauset.
SOFTBALL
Anna Fringuelli went the distance with a two-hitter, striking out 15 and helping her own cause with an RBI double at the plate as St. Mary’s (Lynn) (14-1) secured the Catholic Central League title with a 6-1 win over Cardinal Spellman.
Freshman Gigi Barrows belted a critical three-run home run to steer Essex Tech toward a 7-6 comeback win over Whittier in a Commonwealth Athletic Conference matchup. … Annie Brosnan blasted two home runs in a 4-for-4 game, while Alyssa Collins punched out 12 and hit a home run as Minuteman doubled up Mystic Valley, 8-4. … Freshman Chloe Crogan had 3 doubles and six RBI as Lowell Catholic defeated Shawsheen 18-2.
Morgan Barmash fanned eight batters and allowed no earned runs while going 2-for-2 at the plate, and Ella Spinazola finished 4-for-4 with three runs scored as Woburn (14-2) cruised to an 11-2 Middlesex League win over Belmont. … Cece Imbimbo struck out 13 in a complete-game effort to boost Burlington (15-2) to a 4-2 victory over Wakefield. … Abby LeClair homered and doubled to drive in three runs, while Eva Boudreau finished 3-for-5 with a triple and two doubles as Wilmington routed Melrose 20-4 in five innings. … Nora Vartanian (four RBI) and Soline Fisher (three RBI) each connected for a homer, powering Arlington (11-4) during a 13-1 victory over Reading.
Shannon MacLeod struck out seven over five innings and went 3-for-4 at the plate, while Piper Levin, Claire Ferrara and Olivia Mainville came through with three hits apiece as well for Notre Dame (Hingham) (9-5) in a 17-3 Catholic Conference victory over Fontbonne.
Maggie Schlossberg collected 10 strikeouts and multiple hits for East Bridgewater in a 15-3 South Shore League win over Norwell. … Cassidy Machado tossed seven shutout innings with 15 strikeouts in the circle and delivered two hits at the plate, while Alex Welch went 3-for-4 with two RBI as Middleboro (13-2) beat Abington, 4-0.
In a Boston City League game, eighth grader Ashland Brady allowed three hits and struck out nine as Latin Academy blanked East Boston, 14-0.
