Attorney Aloke Chakravarty, who helped prosecute the Boston Marathon bomber, is back in the city.

He’s now a partner at the national law firm Saul Ewing.

“We are thrilled to welcome Al back to Boston from his recent work developing a private practice in the Western United States in all the areas of the law where he will now work with Saul Ewing,” said Boston Office Managing Partner Joseph Lipchitz.

Chakravarty is a nationally recognized investigations and white collar defense lawyer. He has experience across industries, including higher education, sports and entertainment, high technology, cryptocurrency and financial technology, and life sciences and health care.

As a former Assistant U.S. Attorney, he investigated and successfully convicted Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. He was also a war crimes prosecutor at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.

Mayor Michelle Wu and the Office of Youth Engagement and Advancement (OYEA) announced the launch of Youth Speaks Boston, the first-ever, citywide youth needs assessment focused on identifying gaps in resources or programming for individuals ages 14 to 25 during after-school and after-work hours.

“By working with BPHC and some of Boston’s leading youth health organizations, we’re looking to identify how to best connect youth with opportunities after school that set them up for success,” the mayor said in a release.
