State officials have submitted an application for $250 million in federal funds to build clean energy infrastructure.

The Department of Energy Resources submitted the application to the U.S. Department Of Energy’s Grid Innovation Program for the Cleaner Grid New England (CGNE) Project, the Healey administration said Monday. The CGNE Project is a partnership with Eversource and National Grid.

The project would enable interconnections for about 3,600 megawatts of offshore wind power by increasing the grid’s hosting capacity by 2,400 megawatts in the Brayton Point area and at least 1,200 megawatts on the South Coast, while enabling the incremental interconnection of 300 megawatts of solar resources.

“Transmission is the great enabler of offshore wind in Massachusetts and the region,” said Energy and Environmental Affairs Secretary Rebecca Tepper. “With new energy sources coming online, it’s critical that we also build out transmission to deliver this new energy to our residents.”

“Massachusetts will consider whether to move forward with the project following the receipt of any DOE award,” the Healey administration said.

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission, during their regular meeting Monday, learned that Boston based DraftKings had taken bets on some prohibited tennis matches.

DraftKings self-reported to the commission that they took bets on several UTR Pro Tennis Series events, even though the cash prize pro tennis tour is not approved for wagers.

The bets, taken from March 10 to March 22, amounted to less than $8,000, but were nevertheless canceled by DraftKings upon discovery and reported to the commission.

The Commission chose not to take immediate action while they continue to decide how to respond to other earlier lapses from different bookies.

Developers and the building trades unions are hosting a job fair Tuesday to recruit workers for the redevelopment of Suffolk Downs.

The 15-20 year project to transform the old racetrack will need thousands of workers.

Tuesday’s job fair is being hosted by the Greater Boston Building Trades Unions, John Moriarty and Associates, The HYM Investment Group LLC (“HYM”) and the City of Revere. It takes place 5-7 p.m. outside the paddock at the racetrack on McClellan Highway.
