Progress was made on the Pickorama front this past week.

We turned in a solid 8-2 mark to boost our winning numbers to 72 percent for the season. It’s not perfect but a step above what we did last year and the goal is to strive to get back there.

The two games which kept us from a perfect week you ask?

Start with the battle of the unbeatens between Wayland and Shawsheen. Only one team left the field with a perfect record and it wasn’t the one we picked. The Fighting Costabiles of Shawsheen showed that they are a legitimate contender with an impressive win over Wayland.

The other hit came in MVC Country as we went against Methuen and paid the price as the Rangers were too much for Andover and Pickorama.

Reading over ARLINGTON: Another step on the Rocket Redemption Tour.

BB&N over Belmont Hill: Riding on the Knight Train has been pretty good over the years.

TECH BOSTON over Latin Academy: Figures to be the game of the year in the Boston City League.

BC High over MALDEN CATHOLIC: Eagles get the call in the Catholic Conference opener.

LYNNFIELD over Triton: Pioneers keep it rolling in the CAL.

CATHOLI MEMORIAL over Xaverian: This rivalry has provided us with plenty of thrills and this one should be no different.

Scituate over HANOVER: Sailors sail along but this won’t be that easy.

Tewksbury over BILLERICA: I don’t think Tewksbury will give up 83 points this time around.

St. John’s Prep at St. John’s (S): Guranteed win for one St. John’s team. We will opt for the Danvers office version of St. John’s.

Andover over BROCKTON: Bounce back time for the Golden Warriors.
