Even if the weather and the calendar aren’t quite ready for spring, Southie’s seagulls made a good show that they were ready.

Sullivan’s of South Boston’s Castle Island opened Saturday and the comfort favorites like French fries, hot dogs, cheeseburgers and lobster rolls were gobbled up by people and not just a few of the winged scavengers of Boston’s shore.

Sullivan’s calls itself a “Southie Landmark” and opened in 1951.
